What is SPORTS BIOMECHANICS,
and how does it apply to you?

BIOMECHANICS CONFRONTS THE 'ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM'.
There is no one way to move. Whether you're a runner, cyclist, paddler or golfer, it is not feasible, necessary or even advisable to try and imitate other people's movement patterns.
You are not Eluid Kipchoge or Lydia Ko. So don't try and be them. Be you, BUT be the most efficient version of you.
This is what Biomechanics does. It is a tool, as used by clinically trained practitioners, to assess you dynamically (as a whole) and identify where you can be a better athlete.
It's not a marketing ploy. It's not broad brush stokes. It's what the research tells us to do.....oh, and years of practice-based experience.
HOW DOES THIS APPLY TO ME? I'M NOT AN ATHLETE*?
'ELITE' vs 'AGE GROUPERS' vs 'WEEKEND WARRIORS'.
Sports Biomechanics, when I first graduated in '96, was only applied in the elite athletic environment. It was unheard of in anything other than the highest level of athletic performance, and a bit of a secret to be honest. I could tell you stories of athletes being very upfront in telling us we weren't allowed to talk about our treatment plans. A lot like Fight Club really. The no. 1 rule of Fight Club: 'you don't talk about Fight Club'.
But over time it filtered down from the Elites, to the Age Group athletes (those that aren't elite, but still have the passion of the elite athlete), and now to the Weekend Warriors - those that just love being out there, doing their thing, and wanting to be the best athletic version of themselves.
We may not treat the WW the same way we treat the Elite, but you know what, the basic principles still apply: work out within you where the patterning is going wrong, get strong, build and evolve, and bed in the new best version of you.
So bioSPORT and bioSPORTPro is for you - irrespective of your level. If you love to move well, then we're here for you.
