TRIATHLON TESTING:
Swim + Bike = Fast Run?
TOTAL TRIATHLON TIME IS MORE HIGHLY CORRELATED TO RUN TIME, THAN SWIM AND BIKE TIMES COMBINED. FACT.
Triathlon is sport of beauty. When done well. And the real beauty lies in the fact that you don't need to be an elite athlete to have a great 'day at the office'. You just need to be good athlete. Working well between 3 codes that don't really 'talk' well to each other. By un-tapping the secrets of how the swim can effect the bike, and most crucially, how the bike can effect the run, the complete Triathlon Testing protocol delves deep into how you can optimise each code so the run off the bike, and through to the finish, is one to be proud of.
The greatest challenge for the triathlete is ensuring that they run off the bike well. So the testing looks deep into your pedalling mechanics, cadence management and aero needs so that when you run off the bike, you're upright and moving with intention and efficiency.
bioSPORT Triathlon Testing appointments all consist of the following:
- EVIDENCE BASED testing bike fitting and gait analysis. Detailed discussion around swimming fundamentals
- Relative history screening, including gym programming
- Analysis via hi-res/120 frames per sec video of both bike and gait
- Muscle balance testing to identify root cause weaknesses/imbalances (static and dynamic testing)
- Specific cueing relative to your needs
- Home/gym exercise file
- Voice over video file summary of bike and running so you can see what I see.
- Email communication for further feedback.
3 HOUR FULL TRI ANALYSIS
Once we've discussed your history, and started to unpick any issues, we focus initially on the bike. Not just the bike fit, but HOW you're pedalling from a muscle engagement and technique perspective. A LOT can be done here to optimise the HOW you run off the bike.
From here we dig into your run technique. We discuss what you need to do as soon as you get off the bike to not waste energy and to fall into the 'triathlon shuffle'. The pro's work to achieve even splits through out the run (for as long as possible at least), and so can you.
Detailed reporting and exercise prescription is standard. It's all about YOU understanding your mechanics, and building a solid platform from there.
